Hole 9
Little Aston Golf Club was laid out in 1908 by Harry Vardon, with Harry Colt brought in soon after to shape its bunkering, a pairing that turned a stretch of Staffordshire parkland into one of England's finest inland courses. It's a private members' club with a genuine roll call of golfing history: club professional Charlie Ward gave Ben Hogan what Hogan himself called the hardest match of his career at the 1951 Ryder Cup, and Tommy Fleetwood won the English Amateur Championship here in 2010, his last event before turning professional.
The 9th is the toughest hole on the card by stroke index, a 191-yard par 3 to a long, narrow green guarded by bunkers on both sides. The real test is the wind, which swirls unpredictably through the avenue of trees lining the tee, making club selection as much a challenge as the shot itself.
More Than Just a Golf Print
Little Aston is a private members' club that only opens a limited number of visitor tee times each week, so a round here is still something worth planning for rather than a course you turn up to on a whim. For a lot of golfers it's a society day, a guest round, or a trip booked well in advance and that's part of what makes it worth remembering properly.
That's why this print means more than most gifts. It isn't just a picture of a hole — it's the golf day with friends, the round played as someone's guest, or the club that quietly shaped some of English golf's biggest names, from Tommy Fleetwood to Ryder Cup player Maurice Bembridge.
Personalised for Their Round
Every print can include a personalised message, so it can read exactly like the day it's marking, not a generic caption.
Add their name, the date they played, their score, who they played with, a favourite memory from the round — or anything else worth remembering.
Whether it's a first round at Little Aston, a society day, a captain's day, or a gift for someone who's played this course for years, the print becomes a record of one specific day.
A Gift They'll Actually Keep
Good for birthdays, retirement, Father's Day, Christmas, Captain's Day, society prizes, or any round worth remembering.
Unlike most golf gifts, it doesn't end up in a drawer, it ends up on a wall.
