The 18th at Augusta National is the walk every Masters champion makes on Sunday, finishing just below Butler Cabin, where the green jacket is presented. In 1988, Sandy Lyle became the first British golfer to win the Masters here, holing from a fairway bunker for a closing birdie to win by one - a shot still referenced by golf commentators today. In 2004, Phil Mickelson won his first major on the same green, sinking an 18-foot birdie putt to edge out Ernie Els by a stroke, punctuated by Jim Nantz's famous call: "Is it his time? Yes! At long last!"

- 1986: Greg Norman, needing a birdie to force a playoff, pushes his approach into the gallery and misses the par putt, finishing one shot behind Jack Nicklaus, who completed a back-nine 30 to win his sixth Masters at age 46, still the oldest champion in the tournament's history.
- 1988: Sandy Lyle holes his approach from a fairway bunker and sinks the birdie putt to win by one - the first British golfer to win the Masters, a shot still referenced by commentators today.
- 2004: Phil Mickelson sinks an 18-foot birdie putt to win his first major by a stroke over Ernie Els, prompting Jim Nantz's famous call: "Is it his time? Yes! At long last!"
- 2017: Sergio García beats Justin Rose in a sudden-death playoff that begins and ends on the 18th, winning his first major in his 74th attempt.
